The younger brother of the original returns; this time unmasked. He was double-crossed by his own ninja clan. He soon leaves the clan and is marked for assassination for breaking sacred codes of honor. But unlike the ninja of old his pursuers come as automated machines. As a chosen warrior Sub-Zero must not only defend against the Outworld menace but must also elude his soulless assassins.
END SCREEN: When Shao Kahn takes the Earth, Sub-Zero knows he must face his Outworld enemies; he also knows that he must stop his mechanical assassins. In vicious battle he faces Cyrax and Sektor - but not alone. He manages to find his third Lin Kuei assassin - the elusive Smoke. Before automation, Smoke and Sub-Zero were allies. Sub-Zero helps Smoke recall his past and in doing so gains a new ally; not only in his fight against the other cyborgs but also against Shao Kahn. Sub-Zero defeats his cyborg assasins and finds that it takes the help of Smoke and all his own inner strengths to defeat Kahn. After saving the World, Sub-Zero once again dissappears into the shadows. His legacy known only by a select few.
